Twilight changed my life

They say reading is fun. And it is the most useful tool to enhance our vocabulary. I very well agree to that. Apparently, I wasnt born as a bookworm. I don’t know!

Since then I just find it boring and very tiring to do and it also just makes me sleepy. That’s why I never been a fan of books.

Eventhough I know there’s a famous book that people is talking about…haha! I still don’t care. But when I got into College, my mom reminds me that I have to read and read because when I go to work ,  I have to be fluent in english especially during interviews… Well mom is right… It’s very necessary to be also fluent in english when you get to work.

It’s one of the basis in testing our knowledge. Since then I’ve tried reading some articles in the internet or news paper but this still doesn’t changed my perception in reading. I still get sleepy and bored… So most of the time I just chat in the internet.- Chatting and wasting my time with indian guys which made me confused with right grammar usage and english terms. C’mmon! I believe most of them have worst english. You’ll have a migrane in understanding their grammar. Whoops! I’m not pertaining to all indian people ok. It’s probably my experience in the indian guys I have chat with. Hmmmmm…

So here I am… a working girl now. I do believe I have improved my vocabulary skills as I grow up but still, not yet a fan of books. As I worked here for about 1 1/2 years, I’ve been close with Ma’am Jen whose always my companion when going home. hahaha! 5pm is our favorite time of the day! That’s why we always disappear in the office before 5:30pm.

Ma’am Jen is a simple and very quite person. (actually quite if she’s not lokaloka) She love’s to read books.-A bookworm I should say. So here’s the climax of my blog…

One day. I saw Ma’am Jen reading a black and  very thick book with an image of a hand holding a red apple on the cover. When I saw the thick book, I told Ma’am Jen, ” Ang tiyaga mo Ma’am Jen.  Ang kapal ng book. Kasi ako wala akong tiyaga magbasa ng ganyang kakapal na book.” hahaha! How pathetic I am! Of course she’s a bookworm. She doesn’t care whether the book is thick or not. Then one time my co-officemates were inviting me to go with them to watch a movie named TWILIGHT. It was like I remember the book that I saw Mam Jen is reading during lunch break. So I told Ma’am Jen, ” Ma’am Jen yun ba yung book na binabasa mo?” And she said yes. I wasn’t aware that the book Ma’am Jen’s reading is that famous. So I got curious. But I didn’t went out with them to see the movie ‘coz I have a family matter that time. So the next day , during my date with Ross, I asked him to watch the movie Twilight that people is talking about. He already knew about this movie but he wasn’t that excited yet about the movie. We watched it and as I watched the movie, I got excited for every scenes… I was like woah! this love-story is different! I thought it was just an ordinary vampire and human love story. I was wrong. When movie ended, I was very amazed! I even didn’t stand up right away. As we make our way to the exit of the movie house, I was this full smile with sparking eyes. I was like I got high from a drugs. Ross noticed my crazy reaction so  he tried to caught my attention and I immediately begged him to watched again that movie and buy books of it……! He was surprised  by what I’ve just said to him.  Because he knew I never wanted books and now I’m asking him to buy books. Of course that’s a big surprise for the whole world! Just because of Twilight movie, I began to like booksall of a sudden.

Big change for me! More improvements in my life. So Ross began downloading ebooks and even audio books of completel twilight series. He was so happy for me. He even told me ” Twilight lang pala mangeenganyo sayo magbasa e.” Since then even as I have finished reading the twilight series, I was more eager to read more books. I always observe what book Ma’am Jen is reading. And there I noticed that she reads all famous books. She’s knows what best book to read. I really idolize her for that. No wonder she’s a real genius! A nerd! Hahaha! joke!  Whenever I went to the mall, I always ask Ross to accompany me to a bookstore. I tried looking for an interesting book to read. But my! my! my! books are so expensive! I haven’t bought my first book yet… but I will once I have enough budget for that. Realizing everything… I’ve realized that twilight  didn’t actually changed my perception about books… It was Ma’am Jen who’ve been an instrument to change my perception about books. And so, I would like to have this opportunity to thank her being that instrument.. And teaching us those hifalutin words… that’s all!
